I feel our times are crying out for more positive stories of humanity and optimistic visions of our collective future. Nurturing and building strong communities is an essential part of navigating such challenging times and I feel we are stronger together than apart, and the idea of community embodies this. I love the way ‘unity’ is contained within the word ‘community’, giving it even more weight.
This piece combines many iconic elements of my practice. With a bright colour palette to evoke positivity and optimism, the repeated phrase of UNITE 2 THRIVE represents the importance of community in action. And the bold 'MM' characters are depicted in close relationship together to celebrate our connection with one another. They just look so happy hanging out!
